Alagoas

The state of Alagoas is the second smallest Brazilian state in area, only surpassing Sergipe, and it is 16th in population. It is also one of the largest producers of sugarcane, coconuts, and natural gas in the country. Alagoas also has oil exploration, mostly of onshore deposits.
