About Manaus and Surroundings:

Ponta Negra, the neighbourhood where the house is located, is the newest part of the town and also one of the most expensive. It is on the west side of Manaus. The east side is the industrial zone (Tax free zone).

The name comes from its geography, the furthest west point of Manaus on the Rio Negro.

There has been a lot of development in this area over the past decade. Their goal is to be the Copacabana of the Amazon.

There is the widest beach of town, also the only clean one. Its white sand is natural. It is always surprising at first but the whole forest has sandy beaches in the dry season.

Around the beach area they have been upgrading the landscape a lot to create a public park and walking area where they now organize a temporary events every week. This is also where they hosts events like the FIFA fan fest during the world cup and some food truck festival.
