The residential district of Alphaville is a privately developed real estate project with 33 closed housing developments (condominios) and more than 20,000 single-family houses and private homes, which is located in the cities of Barueri and Santana de Parnaíba in the western metropolitan region of São Paulo. The name Alphaville was intended to symbolize the uniqueness and exemplary nature of the project of a future urban living culture.

Barueri and Santana de Parnaiba are two of the richest cities in Brazil, where around 266,000 people live on 64.2 km². The project was started by Yoshiro Takaoka and Renato Albuquerque, two young civil engineers, in 1973.
