The 5 resorts are among others used for many conferences and events – there takes place, for example, each year the Brazilian Open, the largest international tennis tournament in the country. The Pousada is used as economically priced alternative to the expensive resorts.

Another tourist destination is Praia do Forte, about 40 km south and also a well-known tourist area.
