Santo Andre is a former fishing village with about 1000 inhabitants. The village can be reached by a ferry  (7 minutes) from Santa Cruz de Cabrália, the first city in Brazil. Santa Cruz de Cabrália has 40,000 inhabitants and a complete infrastructure.
The distance to Porto Seguro is about 28 km, with an international airport with daily connections to Sao Paulo, Salvador and Belo Horizonte, bus station with connections to all major cities.
