Santana de Parnaiba
Barueri and Santana de Parnaiba are two of the richest cities in Brazil, where around 266,000 people live on 64.2 km². The project was started by Yoshiro Takaoka and Renato Albuquerque, two young civil engineers, in 1973. It was initially intended to be a business park for IT companies and light industry. In the meantime, the Alphaville concept has also been implemented in other regions of Brazil and has also been copied worldwide.
