General Description and Features:

The property is located in Araçatiba, a municipality on Ilha Grande, right on the main trail, 10 minutes from Praia da Cachoeira and around 15 minutes from Praia Grande de Araçatiba. It is a cozy and quiet place, close to the Atlantic forest.

The centerpiece is an elegant Traditional House with 225 m². It was recently built with hardwood, Angelim windows and doors, shutters, glass and screens, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, Kitchen, Mezzanine and Ceiling fan.

Furthermore there is a Spacious veranda with sink and countertop, clay oven and a wood burning stove. There is a Deck in front of the house, overlooking the sea and trees and a laundry outside.

The houses are surrounded by a large garden with many fruit trees (conde fruit, jabuticaba, acerola, pomegranate and lemon), coconut trees, breadfruit plantation, mango trees, various types of banana, and a vegetable garden with various annual vegetables, including cassava and yam. It was planted with dozens of ipê and pau ferro seedlings.

The house and chalet are currently maintained by a competent and reliable team of three people: a housekeeper/host who cleans the houses and looks after guests, a gardener and a neighbour who has a taxiboat and can provide general assistance.

There is room to construct other chalets if necessary, to provide expanded accommodation for guests.

As a hotspot for biodiversity and conservation, it holds some of the largest remaining populations of many endangered species. The island, which is 193 km² (75 sq mi) in area, is now a popular tourist destination that is noted for its scenic beauty, unspoilt tropical beaches, luxuriant vegetation and rugged landscape. The highest point is the 1,031 m (3,383 ft) Pico da Pedra D’Água. Most of its territory is within the Ilha Grande State Park.
